These posts are my absolute favorite!
Today is my birthday and each year on my birthday I share a number of things I learned that year.
Here are 28 things I’ve learned since turning 28 years old:
1). Be nice to your body
You only have one and you’ve it for the rest of your life. Talk to it nicely, it’s doing the best it can and is absolutely beautiful the way it is.
2). Move and nourish your body
Don’t have exceedingly high expectations for your body if you’re not going to take care of it. Move it and nourish it daily, you won’t regret it.
3). Investing in a good vacuum is worth every single penny
Shout out to Dyson. 🤪
4). It’s not worth planning out your life on a specific timeline
9.9 times out of 10 the timeline doesn’t go as planned and you end up disappointed. You are exactly where you’re meant to be and like they say, patience is a virtue.
5). Stop looking for external validation
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is the polar opposite of what people tell you to do. Look for the answers within and follow your gut. Always. It will never steer you wrong.
6). People project anxiety and limiting beliefs often
Be mindful of this, and extra mindful of who you tell your dreams to.
7). Driving past a dog whose smiling with it’s head out the car window hits different
Enjoy that moment. It really is the little things.
8). Your story can change someone’s life if you choose to own it
Often times we run away from our story trying to create a new one for ourselves. What if you could use your story to change other’s people’s lives WHILE creating a new one for yourself?
9). The stuff you worry about rarely ever happens
It’s usually something you never even imagined happening that ruins your day. Preserve your energy, don’t waste it worrying about things that very likely will never happen.
10). Stop comparing your life and business to everyone on Instagram
Your story is your story. Your life is YOUR life. Not theirs.
I can guarantee you if you try to copy what someone else is doing in their business, you’re going to burn out because it isn’t aligned with who you are at your core.
Sit with yourself quietly and ask yourself, “what do I want my life to look like? What do I want my business to look like? What do I want to be known for?” Then, follow that path.
11). The best relationship you can have is with yourself
It’s you vs. you all the time.
Invest in yourself and treat your mind, body and soul wisely.
12). Only you know what’s best for yourself
Don’t run from the answer. Avoidance is a form of resistance. Honor yourself by being true to yourself.
13). Always act out of integrity and alignment
14). Meditation, journaling, affirmations and manifesting are life-changing
15). Do one thing every single day that takes you one step closer to being the best version of yourself
If you’re not, you are wasting your time.
16). Doing inner healing work doesn’t mean you’re broken
It means you’re brave and I applaud you.
17). People aren’t kidding when they say, “you are who you surround yourself with”
Take that to heart and ALWAYS have it in the back of your mind.
If you are chasing after your dreams while everyone else in your group is laughing at them, find a new group.
18). If you have extra love to spread, rescue a dog
You won’t regret it and I cannot physically describe the amount of joy it will bring to your life.
19). Every hardship you face is here to teach you something valuable
You may not see it in the moment, but don’t stop searching for it.
20). Nothing beats a cold glass of fresh ice water on a hot New England day
Okay, maybe a cold shower after the beach 😂 but you get my point.
21). Society has it ass-backward
You don’t have to wait until you’re 65 to live your life. We live in a time now where you don’t have to work a 9-5 anymore.
You can build your life around work instead of live a life where you’re chained to a desk and have 48 hours a weekend to relax.
22). If you aren’t doing what you want in life, chase after what you want
No risk = no reward
23). Don’t take life so seriously
Don’t forget to let your hair down and laugh
24). We are all just souls having a human experience
It will end one day, just enjoy it.
25). Fill your cup before you fill anyone else’s
If you don’t know what fills your cup, dig deep!
26). Stop telling yourself you can’t do some thing
Instead of saying “I can’t do this,” start asking yourself, “how can I do this?”
Break it down into bite-size action steps, get disciplined and watch yourself excel.
27). Your intuition never lies
Trust it and know you’re always being guided.
28). You can’t do it all on your own and that’s ok
Find people you align with and invest and outsource.
