You’ve finally found your coaching niche and it’s feelin’ good! Now you’re wondering what the heck to do next!?
(If you’re reading this and you’re like, “uhh, no Gabby. I haven’t found my niche yet, help?!” Check out my 90-minute niche intensive here).
I got you! Below you’ll find 5 steps you’ll want to follow to get your coaching biz off the ground.
Want to build an engaged community fast? Relate to them and build their trust.
There is no better way to build a strong community filled with your dream customers than to share your story and answer their burning questions through your educational content.
Your educational content is going to build their trust AND position you as the authority in your space (authority is a biggie!).
Your story is going to make them feel seen and heard (another biggie!). Trust me, your dream customer is begging to feel seen and heard. They have a problem. They need help. Make your resources the solution to their problem(s).
And make sure it feels good to you. If you follow me on Instagram, you hear me say the word “aligned” 2832738 times a day. That’s because I believe in alignment. If your programs/product suite doesn’t feel good, you’re not going to sell it.
Sales = clients. Clients = impact.
I always ask my clients, “is this a product suite you’re in love with or one you feel you should have?”
Don’t hesitate to get creative here.
Just because you’re a coach doesn’t mean you have to have 1 high ticket offer and 1 low ticket offer like every other coach on the planet has.
Plenty of my coaching clients have memberships, courses, retreats, etc. along with their programs.
Lead with your gut. What feels good? How do you envision your product suite? Why do you want to implement xyz into your product suite? How will it help your dream customer?
A good relationship is a two-way street.
If you want an engaged community, engage with them as well. Don’t expect them to just constantly be coming to you.
Remember: quality > quantity.
I would MUCH prefer you to have an audience of 100 engaged dream customers as opposed to 90,000 random followers. You will make more money and a greater impact with the 100 engaged dream customers.
If someone is telling you to sell something a particular way and it doesn’t feel natural to you, you’re going to dread it.
Take it from someone who worked in 9-5 sales for 5 years
I couldn’t get behind what I sold. I didn’t feel like I was making an impact which lead me to dread every single meeting on my calendar. That dread ended up turning into severe anxiety. It SUCKED.
It’s the reason why I preach having an aligned sales strategy and why it’s part of my signature trio that I bring my 1:1 clients through.
The key to creating your aligned sales strategy is focusing on your individual personality and what it needs to thrive.
Some people love reaching out in the DM’s because they’re huge extroverts and that’s what works for them.
Introverts dread doing that.
Focus on your uniqueness and build your strategy around that – your future self (and business) will thank you!
Has your community barely grown in the past few months? Focus on getting visible OUTSIDE of Instagram.
Instagram is a piece of the pie, 100000% should not be your entire lead generation/marketing strategy.
Remember when Instagram went down a few days ago and everyone was freaking out? That’s because we don’t own our social media following and it can be taken away from us at the snap of a finger.
Plan ahead and leverage marketing strategies that you OWN. For instance, your email list. Or your blog. Mark Zuckerburg can’t take those away from you.
Pitch yourself to podcasts, YouTube channels, IG Story takeovers, etc. Think outside the box – the opportunities are endless!
