Two words … affiliate links!
My favorite.
I LOVE incorporating affiliate links into my 1:1 sessions as an additional income stream. If you’re interested in trying this out or curious about how I navigate this, keep reading!
Affiliate links contain a specific URL that is traced back to you. When someone purchases a product or service using your affiliate link, you get a commission. That commission varies depending on the product or service.
First, I gather together all the software, tools, programs, materials, etc. that I swear by using in my business.
I make sure to put together a list of things that help move the needle forward for me so I know they’re going to be useful for my life.
Then, I go through that list and see if any of the products or services have affiliate programs.
Some affiliate programs have you apply, others give you an automated link to use.
I apply to all the ones that require it so I can get access to my code ASAP. I collect all the other code and put everything into an excel spreadsheet.
I then go through and note which of my clients needs xyz product or service. I make a note in my spreadsheet and keep it top of mind during our 1:1 sessions.
For instance, Honeybook is a software that I swear by in my coaching business. When it comes time for my clients to start onboarding and invoicing clients, I always suggest they use Honeybook as a platform for that IF it feels aligned with them and their needs. I never pry on this, just leave it as my suggestion for them.
9 times out of 10, they move forward to it because it’s cost-effective, offers a 7-day no risk free trial, and they know I use and trust it in my business.
My Honeybook code gives them an extra sweet incentive of 20% off their first year and gives me a $200 commission when someone signs on and books a client so it’s a win/win across the board!
ALWAYS disclose that it is an affiliate link. Let anyone you are giving this link to know that you get a small kickback if they purchase using the link and it won’t cost them any extra.
I always say something along the lines of, “this link gives you 20% your first year and here’s why I suggest it…it is an affiliate link which means I’ll get a small kickback if you purchase through it at no extra cost to you.”
Honesty is the best policy my friends!
Honeybook – gives 20% off to my clients for their first year
Flodesk – gives them a 50% discount for their entire life making it only $19/month!
Amazon links for any products or materials I suggest (I use this a lot for the podcast mic I have, etc.)
**disclaimer, those are affiliate links above **
