TUNE IN
Almost everyone I’ve talked to the past few weeks has been in a massive funk because of the awful things that are happening in the world right now.
The news is depressing, people are getting cabin fever, and it’s hard to stay inspired when you’ve been stuck at home for the past 10 weeks.
We need inspiration now more than ever.
If you’re a business owner, your audience needs you to keep creating killer content.
If you’re a mom or a dad, your kids need you to keep showing up every day.
If you’re a goal chaser, we need you to keep chasing those goals sister!
Here are four ways for you to put your inspiration pants back on so we can keep this party movin’ and groovin’ and get you out of your funk.
Ready? Let’s do this.
Commit to this! You deserve it. Make a promise to yourself that you’re going to get fresh air at least 4 times this week.
I prefer to do my coaching calls over the phone rather than on Zoom because I can walk around when I’m talking to someone. Walking sparks creativity. I am one million times more creative and come up with better ideas for people when I’m walking. If I had to sit down and do a session with someone, I wouldn’t be able to do it as well.
Trust me on this one, you’re creativity will start flowing again once you start moving your body.
If you live in an area that makes it challenging to go for walk around your neighborhood, Google the closest park or trail. Do whatever you can to get those legs going!
Write it all out.
What are you feeling? What’s stopping you? How can you give yourself grace during this time?
When you get the thoughts out of your head and onto paper, you free yourself from begin bogged down and allow yourself to let inspiration come to you.
Pour yourself a glass of wine, turn off all distractions, and set a timer for 30 minutes. You owe it to yourself to have 30 minutes of quiet time to let it all out.
Whenever I’m in a funk, I go for a ride alone. I set up a playlist of songs that make me feel good and I blast the crap out of them. This gets me back in my feels and this helps me immensely.
Give it a try!! What songs make you feel good? And not just GOOD but GEWWWD. Like Beyonce good? What songs put you in the zone.
Hop in your car, drive around town a few times, and turn that music up as loud as you want. Pretend to be your role model, pretend you’re driving in your dream car. Zone out and let the music snap you out of your funk.
I know this is a tough one, but seriously – put it away. Put your ringer volume on loud in case you get an emergency call, but then put it in a drawer. Out of sight, out of mind.
We spend too much time on our phones, which then increases our funk because nine times out of ten, we’re on Instagram/Facebook/TikTok, etc. comparing ourselves.
Social media isn’t healthy when we’re in a funk., Even though social media feels mindless, we still get sucked into it.
So please, do yourself the favor of taking a break from it so you can allow yourself to get reignited and reenergized.
